A family-owned park with original concepts hasn't happened in decades... until now!

A 90-acre theme park is opening in the midwest Summer, 2022. Here is a little backstory.

Meet the Bertch Family

In 2001, the Bertch family business, Bertch Cabinet Manufacturing, known for reviving the cherished art of traditional cabinet making for over 40+ years, caught the attractions industry “bug” and opened Lost Island Waterpark. Over time, the water park expanded, and it became ranked among the best water parks in the United States by USA Today.

On July 15, 2019, the Bertch family announced plans to construct Lost Island Theme Park next to Lost Island Waterpark. On August 23, 2019, construction began.

As they say, "every story begins with a dream."

From the beginning, the inspiration behind Lost Island parks is to create a tropical oasis with a sense of far away, exotic adventure, thrilling attractions, and world-class fun for families. Not something you come across often in the Midwest.

The 90-acre park will be located next to a 30-acre lake, and it will feature multiple attractions in five themed lands, or realms. Each realm in Lost Island Theme Park contains its own distinct architecture, culture, and tantalizing secrets.

The Tamariki realm is a colorful, enchanted land for our youngest guests and those who are young-in-spirit.

The Udara realm is an inventor's paradise full of complex contraptions designed to harness the power of air.

In the Awa Realm guests can get a taste of what it's like on the open ocean and embark on aquatic adventures.

The Yuta Realm is a lush, tropical jungle with discoveries to un-earth and delicious flavors to experience.

And finally, the Mura realm. Showcasing the element of fire in grandeur.

VOLKANU-- Quest for the Golden Idol, will be housed inside the park’s large, iconic Volcano structure, just west of the park entrance, and will serve as the climax of your journey at Lost Island.

Designed to create a seamless experience with the park’s mythical island theme, the ride is inspired by the great god of fire Volkanu - a legendary bestial being of molten rock living deep inside Lost Island.

The experience will take riders on a thrill-packed adventure to locate the sacred Ora-Tika statue, responsible for keeping Volkanu dormant, and return it to the altar to restore peace to the island.

Guests will be equipped with a powerful Thermal Blaster as they battle with the minions of Volkanu and head to the Temple of Fire to return the statue to its altar. The attraction features state-of-the-art, multi-level gameplay technology that has something for everyone. Riders will experience an over four-minute ride full of interactive3D media, dynamic scenery, animatronic figures and dazzling special effects.

Once aboard our InfernoTransport vehicle, we ride off into the jungles of Lost Island in search of the six evil tiki statues which guard the sacred Ora-Tika idol. If we destroy the six tikis and secure the Ora-Tika – and if we succeed in defeating the living lava scorpions, spiders, bats, and other monstrous beings which Volkanu has sent to destroy us -- we must return the idol to the altar in the Temple of Fire. Only when  Volkanu is imprisoned will Lost Island will be saved!
