An Incredible Journey:
The adventure begins in an expedition storehouse
where video monitors broadcast news bulletins reporting that a
mysterious subterranean cavern has been discovered at Water World.
Authorities report that the passageway may lead to the center of the
earth, where prehistoric creatures may still exist. The journey begins
as two to five-person tube boats disappear into the howling winds of a
bat cave. From there, they travel through lakes, caverns, swamps and
narrow canyons. Realistic rockwork, prehistoric plants and creatures
surround the adventurers: Duckbilled dinosaurs watch you; ancient
turtles chew on strange vegetation; large flying reptiles–Quetzalcoatlus–are
perched ready to swoop down on unsuspecting riders. The huge sea
monster, Elasmorsaurus, swings out from his lair above the waterway,
chomping his sharp teeth, and rounding a bend in the river, visitors
come face to face with a huge T-Rex, looming twelve feet over their
heads, roaring and gnashing his jaws.
The
ride was produced in cooperation with R & R Creative Amusement Designs,
Inc. of Anaheim, California. Multiple special effects, multiple sound
and lighting effects and the realistic animatronic creatures…coming at
you, in front of, above, around you…makes the voyage a multi -sensory
experience.
